Allies Act is brought to you by IFEL

Hi !

Earlier this month we celebrated Independence Day — a time to reflect on the promise of freedom. Freedom from injustice, to dream big, to be who you are. It’s a reminder that living fully and authentically is worth protecting — and that we have work to do to ensure that all people are able to live freely.

July also shines a light on Black Family Month and Minority Mental Health Awareness Month, calling us to recognize the importance of access, empathy, and cultural understanding in healing.

Of course, July brings the fun too — we’ve got Canada Day (cheers to our neighbors up north), National Fried Chicken Day (crispy, golden perfection), and it’s officially Ice Cream Month (how far we have some from just vanilla and chocolate options). Joy is part of wellness so have fun in your expressions of these and other July celebrations.

We are excited to share below what we have been up to as well as opportunities to make a difference in many ways. We hope you will read, consider, and take action. Thanks for being on this journey with us. Let’s keep showing up — with purpose, care, and maybe an ice cream cone in hand. 😊

Jill Johnson - AngelFamilia Banner

Know > Like > Trust – Jill Johnson, CEO of the Institute for Entrepreneurial Leadership (IFEL), sat down with AngelFamilia to unpack the power of relationship-driven investing—and why it matters now more than ever. A trailblazer in inclusive angel investing, Jill highlights how the “know-like-trust” trifecta fosters more equitable capital access for historically excluded founders. She urges angel investors to widen their circles, build genuine connections, and back founders not just with money, but with expertise and mentorship—especially in today’s tightening markets.
